Foundation in Accountancy (ACCA-FIA)

The Foundation in Accountancy (ACCA‑FIA) is an entry‑level accounting qualification aligned with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), designed for students beginning their journey into accounting and finance. It is typically a 1‑year programme (full‑time) that builds foundational knowledge and practical skills in financial and management accounting, enabling graduates to work in support roles in finance or progress further toward the full ACCA professional qualification. FIA covers core areas such as Recording Financial Transactions, Management Information, Maintaining Financial Records, Managing Costs and Finance, Business and Technology, Management Accounting, and Financial Accounting — often alongside professional skills modules like Foundations in Professionalism to strengthen ethical and workplace readiness. The course is usually structured into two semesters over the year, giving students the theoretical grounding and confidence to either enter the workforce in accounting or advance into higher ACCA stages with exemptions from some of the ACCA Applied Knowledge exams upon completion.
